Alvor is a seaside tourist and fishing village in the Algarve, the southernmost region of Portugal. This fishing village with maritime origins is deeply religious. The 16th-century Mother Church rises above the historic centre, and the 3 Islamic aislets (morabitos) evoke the Moorish heritage of the area.
